Jonathan Gardner's Personal Data

VB

Listed here are some college courseds that I took in VB. The applications are kind of simple but they show the technical aspects of the programming language. I tried to add some extras to the projects, but they aren't my most advanced applications. If you need any more information check out my Contact Info page and let me know. I retain all rights to the material that is available for download or viewable.

This is a fun application. It starts out with a mine form and 4 buttons. Each of these buttons will load a new form. This application displays math calculations, a dice game, and a print dialog. The first button open the 'Simple Math' form. This is kind of like a simplified calculator. The next button open a 'Math Quiz' form. This can give you a random set of 2 numbers and signs. You have to answer the question correctly.

The 'Dice Game' is probably my favorate part of this applicaiton. this form asks you to set a few paramaters like number of dice and numbers on the dice. Then you run the simulation for a specified number of rounds. The winner is the one with the most points. the last form is for a 'Print Dialog'. Basically it is a text field that has some information in it. You can then click a couple buttons to see a print preview, the page setup, and the print dialog.

Lastly I can use this application to rip out HTML from a line of code. It can also tell you the resolution of your screen.

This is one of my funny applications. It was used to demonstrate classes, inheritance, and polymorphism. I had to create a set of classes and populate 12 total objects. these objects are displayed in a list box. When the user selects one of the objects the information from that class is displayed on the rihgt. There are also 2 buttons on the for for 'speak' and 'play'. Each object has a phrase for each of these. All of the phrases are different.

During certain events a message box will appear telling you what just fired. You can also enter text into a text field to fire events off. The 3rd part of this lab shows the ability to do some string manipulation. The last part of the application shows how you can use a messagebox result value to have the application do different things.
