PC Builds

Here I have a list of all of the PC's I have built. I have now built several computers for various friends and family members. So far all of them have been pretty good. I haven't had any major issues building them. So far I have had pretty good luck with the parts. I have only had 1 piece in 7 builds that I had to send back DOA. So overall I am very comfortable building PC's. I guess it helps that I have some A+ and troubleshoot experience in my background. If you would like for me to build a PC for you, head over to my Work Orders page and we can see what we can do. Below I have listed the PC's I have built. If I still have a link for the part, I have included it. If you need any more information check out my Contact Info page and let me know. I retain all rights to the material that is available for download or viewable.

PC 1

Date Built : October 2001
Cost : Approx. 1500$.

Information :
PC 1 was the very first PC I built myself. This PC was for my personal use, or in other words was for me. I built this computer just after I started my junior year in high school. I used this computer a lot, and I really liked it. Unfortunately I fried the motherboard in December of 2006. Frying the motherboard really was a bad thing to do. I eventually rebuilt the pc, and the specs are listed under PC 2 below. The specs that I have below for PC 1 are from my best guess. I never wrote everything down when I originally built the machine. But I still have some of the parts in PC 3. I also don't have any links from when I originally built the PC either. So there aren't any links available for this PC.

PC 2

Date Built : November 2006
Cost : Approx. 1800$.

Information :
This was the first PC I built for another person. This PC was for my Brother, and he is still using it today. While it did cost a little bit, he has only added an additional HD to the machine in 3 years of use. He has never had any issues with the PC that I am aware of, and everything is still running just fine.

PC 3

Date Built : Jan/Feb 2007
Cost : Approx. 350$ (rebuild).

Information :
As I mentioned in PC 1, this pc was a rebuild. I had unfortunately fried the motherboard of PC 1. So this rebuild was done in late January into February 2007. I still have this PC and use it regularly. The rebuild for this PC originally cost around 350$. That included the Motherboard, Ram, and CPU. Since this rebuild I have made a few updates and swapped out a few items. I will try to list everything for the current build of this machine. I will try to note all of the old parts as well.

PC 4

Date Built : April 2009
Cost : Approx. 800$.

Information :
This PC was built for my grandfather in April 2009. It is a pretty well rounded machine, and is used mainly for photo editing. Most of the components for the tower are new. There are a few old parts that he wanted to use with this new machine. He carried over his 2 monitors, a keyboard/mouse, a Wacom Tablet w/Pen and mouse, a DVD burner, and 2 internal Hard Drives. Although that may seem like a lot, all of the major parts are new to this machine.

PC 5

Date Built : May 2009
Cost : Approx. 350$.

Information :
This was pretty much my first 'budget build' PC. After building the PC for my grandfather, he asked me to build one for my grandmother. Since the machine she used didn't need to be very high end, he asked me to keep the price down. So to help keep the price down I gave him one of my old 300GB Hitachi Hard Drives, and we reused the Monitor, Keyboard/Mouse, and Speakers. Overall it's a pretty good machine. It probably can't play some of the top end games, but that doesn't really matter to my grandparents. It can do everything that they need it to.

PC 6

Date Built : May/June 2009
Cost : Approx. 550$ + 225$.

Information :
Here is my Main PC. The PC cost me roughly 550$ to start at the end of May. I have recently bought a new monitor (140$) and a new Hard Drive (85$) in October '09. So overall the grand total on this PC is roughly 775$. This machine has run great since I built it in early June. So far it runs everything that I have for it (Crysis and Stalker Clear Sky). I also use this machine to do video rendering. It does a great job rendering, and is a lot faster then my previous machine at it. I do use this machine daily, and I have had no problems with it so far.
